In June, we gave the industry a sneak peek of the first iterations of the NZGTTM Risk Awareness and Assurance Guide and the NZGTTM Risk Awareness and Assurance Field Guide – Seeing Risk in Real Work. Developed to support organisations transitioning from CoPTTM to NZGTTM, these practical resources are designed to help businesses better understand, apply and monitor good practice through a structured assurance approach.

Since then, the Assurance Working Group has been working alongside a select group of industry participants to review and field test the guides in real-world environments. This collaborative process has provided valuable feedback on both the content and usability of the resources, helping refine them ahead of their wider industry release.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with participants recognising the guides as practical, easy to use and valuable tools for supporting conversations around risk awareness, assurance and continuous improvement.

The guides are designed to help organisations:

• Understand how they are progressing through the transition to NZGTTM.
• Identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
• Support consistent assurance and monitoring practices.
• Encourage meaningful conversations about risk and good practice.

Join Us at the Civil Contractors New Zealand Conference

We're looking forward to sharing the latest progress at the Civil Contractors New Zealand Conference in Wellington on 13 August 2026.

TTM-ISG representatives Monika Wakeman, NZTA and Nick Miskelly, Chrous, will present an interactive session exploring the transition to NZGTTM and how the Risk Awareness and Assurance Guides can support organisations in identifying, documenting and managing critical risks.

Drawing on lessons from recent field testing, the session will provide attendees with an early look at how the guides are being applied in practice and the role they can play in strengthening assurance across the sector.
