ISG attends TMAA National Conference

ISG Chair Dave Tilton and Deputy Chair Darren Wu recently presented at the Traffic Management Association of Australia (TMAA) annual conference in the Gold Coast.

Dave and Darren shared an update on recent political interest in the TTM sector in New Zealand and how this is accelerating our move towards a risk-based approach. With Australia also going through a number of changes in their TTM sector to align the learning and training across each state, the presentation was received with a lot of interest.

Dave also presented some of the innovations spotted during his recent attendance at the American Traffic Safety Services Association Expo in San Diego, with the three Traffic Controller of the Year finalists each then selecting and championing the innovation they thought offered the most significant benefits to the TTM industry in Australia.

Overall, there were some great presentations that showcased how digital and technology was being trialled to improve safety and performance of TTM work sites and the conference finished with the TMAA Excellence Awards, celebrating TTM businesses and workers across Australia.

The conference was great opportunity to promote our emerging industry voice in New Zealand and continue to build the relationship with our Australian equivalent.
